Her Excellency Barbara Akoukor Benisa comes from a background of customer service, public relations, administration and management, with over three (3) decades of experience in these areas, across diverse institutions, particularly in the Airline Industry, having spent about twenty-four (24) with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. She was a board member of the Ghana Free Zones Authority between 2017 to 2020, and also served as a board member on His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, President of the Republic of Ghana’s, ‘Beyond the Return’ Steering Committee from 2020 to date, which is a follow-up of the ‘Year of return’ organized in 2019. Her Excellency Barbara A. Benisa, was very instrumental in the organization of evacuation flights for stranded Ghanaians during the on-set of the covid-19 pandemic, which successfully saw to the safe return of many Ghanaians in the diaspora across the globe. She holds a diploma in French.

H.E. Barbara Akoukor Benisa, is married  with two (2) children.

She’s a pillar of strength in women emancipation and empowerment and has a passion for tourism. Her other interests include reading and travelling.
