On 24th June, 2026, the High Commissioner of the Republic of Ghana to the Republic of Malta, H.E. Mrs. Regina Appiah-Sam, presented her Letters of Credence to H.E. Dr. Myriam Spiteri Debono, President of the Republic of Malta, at a ceremony held at the Presidential Palace in Valletta on Tuesday, 24th June 2026.
Following the presentation of the Letters of Credence, the High Commissioner held cordial discussions with the President on the longstanding friendship and cooperation between Ghana and Malta. The discussions focused on further strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing collaboration in areas of mutual interest, including trade and investment, education, healthcare, tourism, environmental sustainability and people-to-people exchanges.
The High Commissioner also highlighted the importance of the Ghana–Malta Permanent Joint Commission for Cooperation (PJCC) as an important framework for advancing bilateral engagement and promoting closer cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their commitment to deepening the cordial relations between Ghana and Malta and expressing confidence in the continued growth of the partnership for the mutual benefit of the peoples of the two countries.
